Application for residence permit in Turkey
Tourist visas are given to anyone who wants to stay in Turkey less than 90 days during a 6-month
period.
The residence permit application procedure in Turkey is relevant to anyone who wants to stay in the
country for more than 90 days. This includes students, employees, marriage with a Turkish citizen
etc.
If you also want to work in Turkey, you must apply for a work permit. This requires a separate
application.

 

Short-term residence permit in Turkey
When the application for a residence permit is made, for the first time, you receive a short-term
residence permit of maximum 2 years. This permit can be extended for 2 years at a time and after 5
years in total you can apply for a permanent residence permit.

These documents are needed for a residence permit application:

  • Passport with validity of more than 6 months and a colour copy of the passport
  • 4 biometric photos
  • Valid health insurance
  • Copy of TAPU or rental contract
  • Proof that you can financially manage yourself in the country

Citizenship
See below the requirements for citizenship:

  • An investment in Turkey of at least $ 500,000
  • Purchase of a property with a minimum value of $ 250,000. This property must have been in your name for at least 3 years
  • Creating work for 50 Turkish citizens
  • Purchase of government bonds at a minimum value of $ 500,000
